I remember Bitshares when it had a $30 million market cap just a few years ago. I knew the moment I saw it, that Bitshares was emblematic of all that is to come. I also used to trade stocks. I used Schwab, TD Ameritrade, TradeMonster, ThinkOrSwim, to name a few. They were expensive, buried under layers of red tape and bureaucracy, and extremely expensive!
I wonder if these bureaucrats actually understand what they're doing. Either they truly think themselves all powerful, or they are secretly trying to force innovation and a mass exodus from the current economic paradigm. The more they press this issue, the more people like Dan Theman are going to do what they do. The more they go after people, the smarter those people will ultimately become.
You can't subpoena the blockchain. You can't send a swat team to raid the internet. You can't freeze cryptocurrency assets, unless you're Ripple/XRP!
For a bunch of geriatric, out of touch, career politicians and lawyers, to actually think they can match wits with the most brilliant minds in the game today, is pure hubris. They've already lost. They never had a chance.
Anyone who has ever had a dog and watched it grow old, has likely noticed they become increasingly protective of their food the older they get. The older dogs get, the weaker they get, the more susceptible they are to fear. They no longer have the energy to hunt and provide for themselves, and so they becoming increasingly violent towards anyone that steps near their bowl of food.
The dogs I've had over the years were always excited for meal time, but as they would reach their final years, it was less excitement and more expectation. As pups they would just run around and play, and be happy when the food was put out. As they matured, they became increasingly impatient, eventually getting to a point where they would bark at us, standing by their dish, demanding that we feed them, NOW!
That was always a clear sign the end was near...
