Continuing from part 1. A tracker needs to be able to read signs and move silently with agility. A singer trains both their body and hearing, an artisan their eyes, taste, and hand skills, a dancer tunes their body to gravity and sound. What of the mathematician the theoretical physicist or fictional novelist? What do they tune to? Is there a physical component or are they floating free from reality?
When we build physical skills and talents, our focus is deeply in our senses, "greater presence" is both the requisite and the reward for high performance.
What of the purely analytical? Steven Hawkins is not the first genius and thought leader to exist in a wreck of a body. Mal-aligned posture can distort our sensitivity and make it harder to interact with gravity, for some this loss of focus can be dangerous.
Those who work with their minds are also bound by consequence but the interaction is less direct, the feedback is less or even completely intangible. They will need to trial an idea in the real world, building experiments to isolate cause and effects. Or for the novelist, their success depends on how others receive their work.
How does the “mentalist” tune their art, when there is no sensory feedback to guide them?
Well perhaps there is, perhaps they are “tuning” in and that the parameters of that focus can do have a physical counterpart?
