That's right! Homesteading sucks! .....when you don't have any resources.
I know, I know..."dang Yeti more clickbait"...yep. It is a real issue though. Homesteading is the most amazing personal experience I have ever had. I think it is one of the most rewarding too.
I have learned so many new things through the experience. If it all works out...we will build another homestead too!
Lately I have been seeing alot more struggle. Homesteading is difficult enough without running out of resources. It goes beyond money. It could be friends, tools, your friends tools, equipment, food, water, building material etc.
I have seen more people leaving their homesteads, or getting jobs. I have seen alot of people selling things that they didn't think they would sell....just to keep going.
Homesteading begins when the relying on others to survive ends. When people head out of the city to start homesteading there is usually a lack of something. Watching youtube videos don't show you how to cope when your resources are gone, and you're sitting under a tree crying.
I want to encourage everyone to be self reliant. Trust yourself. Trust your ability. Be prepared...as much as you can.
