Friendship is one of the best things in life. It is the second family anyone can have in the world. Two or more total strangers can become so close and care about each other genuinely that they can do anything to ensure that life is better for both of them.

I have seen friends become family; I have seen friends lift their friends from nothing to something.

With good friends around, even without one's direct family, one is safe and sure to survive through the storms and calms of life.

It's beautiful how we can make friends in different places; social media has even made it easier. One can link up with people across the world without necessarily seeing them directly.

Through social media, people have met friends who became like their siblings, and some started a relationship that led to their marriages.

Although there are several risks attached to it, so many people were lucky; they came across the right people, and their lives were transformed.

Over the years, I have made quite a number of friends online. I can remember those days when I was actively engaging on Facebook; there was no week that I didn't meet someone new on Facebook, and the friendship usually lasted.

Sometimes those kinds of friends are even more fun than the friends one has physically.

One of my best friends currently is someone I have never seen physically. I came across him on Hiveblock during one of the dreemport’s exercises.

It was fate that we were part of the same team during the project, and by the end of the day, we became close. From being our team leader and coach, he became a friend.

He taught me almost everything I know about crypto today. He has not been just a friend but an elder brother and more.

I am more comfortable with him than with anyone else. There are personal things about myself that I disclose to him that I can never discuss with anyone else.

Friendship is not necessarily about sight; distance is not a barrier to establishing a genuine bond. Once you trust each other, you can create a bond that nothing can break except fate.

If you ask me, honestly, I prefer digital friendship; look how someone like me, who is an introvert, can finally discuss things with someone else and find reliable solutions.

I don't have fears that he will discuss my secret with anyone, and even if he does, it is left for him and his conscience.

But when you have physical friends, you dread a lot of things; sometimes some of them are only around for what they can benefit from you, and as soon as those things are no more, they vanish.

Things like envy, jealousy, unhealthy competition, and many other bad vibes won't be there; it's just you and your friendship.

However, don't get me wrong, physical friendships are good too. Even online friendships have their bad sides. So, pick the one that best works for you and stick to it. The world is bad, but there are still good people, and you can find them anywhere: online or physically.
