HOLY CRAP, HOLY CRAP, HOLY CRAP!!
Today I received the last piece of equipment that I will need to start creating custom blades again. Since leaving the homestead in Southern Missouri I have gotten rid of all of my knife making things. I passed them on to someone else who wanted to get started. When I used to make knives, I would use whatever I had. I used a homemade forge that burned wood. I used a second or third hand grinder that was kindof rusty. I used a hand me down belt sander. I even used regular things like pliers and vise grips.
Using the vise grips was ok when I was using the wood burning forge because the heat went straight up, so I could get at it from the side without being too hot. Now though, I have this forge that breathes like a dragon! So I wanted to make sure that I gave myself a little space and control.
