When I think about the phrase tangled in time, I imagine an octopus wrapping up something and pulling it to the bottom of the ocean. I imagine time doing that to us all.
I have been on a journey for many years, and I find that my worst obstacle is myself. My mind hums like a computer, and I can't seem to tame that friggin thing.
This morning I started the day with an amazing meditation time outside. I found my mind struggling with comparisons and expectations.
Not just that, but the time involved in doing all of that. I found that I have been consumed by the idea of living in a timely manner. Doing the things I want in a planned out fashion. The down side is, that is the opposite if feeling peaceful.
I was listening to a book about peace and inner peace, and it mentioned our attachment to time. The more we can disconnect ourselves from the construct of time, the more peace we will feel.
I believe that for sure. We live by the minute, hour, day, week, month. We plan our activities, meals, work. We are intimately in love with time and to idea of accomplishing something. It is a beautiful day when I wake up realizing that the hustle isn't real, and life just IS. One moment at a time.
Be well
