I learned recently cut stems of plants glow under black light.

When the stem is cut, this causes chlorophyll to leak from the stems. This glows orange with my peach sample. Or at least thats my guess. I wonder if it glows other colors with other plants.

To the right of the middle peach, you can see the leaf missing, and a orange glow to where it was cut.

At a closer look, it glows mostly around the outside of the stem. That is where the plant moves nutrients and water I think. But I hear the outside stem of the plant is very important to its health.

Hope you enjoyed these pictures, I need to collect more samples and will try more experiments with my LED black light. I also have a fluroesent tube I want to try some pictures with.

I will also try water drops as laviniatherapist@laviniatherapist suggested, great idea!
