Free Sample: Star Wars the Old Republic - HK-51 quest; Theoretica (escape room puzzle solution)

If u played KotORs, u sure enjoyed the HK-47 assassin droid build by Revan. However there wasnt much reason for any of your characters to have that beloved party member 300 years later. Well - fortunately with Oricon patch that fanservice has been served. In Section X on Belsavis u can start a quest to obtain supposedly new and improved model of that droid and this is the best part of it.
The idea was that im gonna take u for a climatic tour of the ship, presenting u the climate and mechanics. That didnt quite work, due to interuptions and such, so i ended up with this. U get to experience the initial exploration, all the bonus story datapads contents and plot cutscenes anlong with puzzle solution at 8:13.
This is a great quest - u find a derelic ship stranded in space - dark, mysterious, broken. U have to make your way to the bridge to get the droid plans, while having an opportunity to discover the horrible fate of the crew.
But its not the best - probably cuz they had to work with mmorpg system and couldnt afford much complexity - the quest is very linear, there isnt much to figure out on your own. U dont quite identify whats the problem and try to solve it with a bunch of options - u just get a key, got to the door it opens and take the thing inside.
All that wrapped in a dumb mcguffin hunt - u get the whole HK storyline from a ship that crashed, which was carrying an entire army of HK droids. None of them works. Instead of getting a bunch of them from there and reverse-engineering them, while swapping out parts to make at least 1 operational, u run around the galaxy looking for single bits lodged somewhere in the ground for no reason. Theres part on Taris - HK-47 wasnt on Taris. Hoth, Corelia and Dromund Kaas - those planets werent even in KOtORs. U couldve visited Tatooine with HK-47, but theres nothing there that indicates your party member got shot so hard that his motivators, combat protocols or anything fell out.
Enjoy this abortion. I still dont know why some audio sometimes sound like a sheet metal pipe echo.
