All theres to do left is claim the Throne in the Spire. Only problem is orbital bombardment and some dumbass loyalists defending an empty seat.
Its over. Thats the story of Zakuul. Did u notice the whole double expansion is about retelling and playing the story of the original trilogy? Theres this immense power - The (Eternal) Empire with the sith emperor on top of it and they attack the current galactic power (republic and empire), crushing it utterly. Then 1 hero gathers his allies to establish the Rebellion and perform hit and run strikes, operations behind the enemy lines, sabotage, and spark uprisings. Then he faces the evil overlord and return victorious to bring peace back to the galaxy. Its "Force awakens" all over again! Well, its not that overt and not beat by beat the same. Its more general, like "Lord of the rings" - few weak face the 1, large, evil force.
Yes, the ending of it all, the final confrontation was weak and weird. Unestablished concepts just get pulled straight out of the ass, theres disregard for the difference between real and dream and some writer just drops the ball with the dialogue. It reminds me of "Born from a wish" expansion for "Silent Hill 2" - when u interact with objects in the game world, u get a text, thats a transcription of the heros thoughts - personal, emotional, written in 1st person and not all knowing. But in the expansion, whatever Maria interacts with gets a text written in 3rd person, descriptive, neutral and all-knowing - clearly written from a narrators view. Here, they just name the actions they r about to perform, which never happened before.
Thats not good, but i think the drama was good. Valkorions plan was to use his children as Force capacitors he can absorb later on to increase his power lvl, which is interesting. Convincing their apparitions to fight against him gave the characters depth. It rly made the siblings more into victims, giving us a new perspective.
In the end its Me, the player, who achieved power and recognition on a galactic scale, which sure is a welcome reward and closure.
And we will come back to that.
Boss fight wasnt difficult, though cant tell whether cuz of my choices of the general encounter mechanics. It was long and very steady, though. Seems like an endurance run. I cant quite tell what kind of boss fight is the good 1, though. I dont just want gimmics and i dont want a dmg sponge. Some avoidable close calls is what u want, i think.
