The last couple of days have been spent mostly watching the live presentations at Steemfest, an annual Steem-conference and community gathering, this time taking place in Bangkok, Thailand. Having attended the two previous Steemfests in Lisbon and Krakow, it felt weird to instead have to watch the event from half a world away. It was especially frustrating to see all the friends I鈥檝e made on this blockchain share stories from late nights out in Bangkok or interesting conversations they鈥檝e had with others regarding the future of Steem馃槴. Still, I couldn't help but to appear at the event as a part of our own presentation with a video clip that I would record at home. Now, I have never really done video content like this before, but figured it would be fun to give it a serious try with a proper setup. I don't know about you guys, but I never manage to watch poorly done video recordings or live presentations through Skype that have poor sound quality, and/or poor resolution or light conditions. It just doesn't work, as I am quickly distracted by something else. So I went ahead and bought a proper camera and large tripod tall enough to record myself standing. I also rearranged my apartment to make use of the white, wall most suited as a background and moved around the lamps to provide what turned out to be really good light conditions. I even brought forward the table with my largest desktop monitor with a teleprompter software for extra swag! Oh, the things you do to make a good appearance at SteemFest馃槑.
I don鈥檛 think it turned out too bad, but I鈥檓 already thinking of ways to improve both the quality as well as making the setting more natural and comfortable for myself and the viewer. So who knows? Perhaps this will be the start of more video content to come now that I am more familiar and comfortable with preparing content for filming as well as shooting and editing it. So I am considering utilizing more of this format for my own blog, as well as for future SteemPress announcements. Perhaps I鈥檒l also do a new series of content where I will share my thoughts about Steem and what we are building on SteemPress as a way to share my thoughts and process more directly. I think I will give it a shot. One way or another, it should be some good fun and good learning!馃榿
