Here on Earth is a 2000 movie, directed by Mark Piznarski. I saw this film recently, I must say that I love drama and romance productions, so I went to see this one and I can tell you that it left me with mixed feelings. This movie did not receive as positive reviews as expected, many people were dissatisfied, but I will give you my opinion according to my personal experience and not based on other people's comments.

Aquí en la tierra es una película del año 2000, dirigida por Mark Piznarski. Este filme lo vi recientemente, debo decir que me encantan las producciones de drama y romance, por lo cual me animé a ver esta y les puedo decir que me dejó sentimientos encontrados. Esta película no recibió críticas tan positivas como se esperaba, muchas personas descontentas, pero les voy a dar mi opinión de acuerdo a mi experiencia personal y no basada en comentarios de otras personas.

What is the movie about? Well, the film tells us about Kelley Morse, a young student who is very rich, his mother died and his father is absent, so the boy has behaviors that are not desired. On the other hand, we have Samantha and her boyfriend Jasper, both live in a town where they have known each other for years, they were friends and later boyfriend and girlfriend, but the arrival of Kelly shakes their relationship, putting in showers the girl if she really loved Jasper. In short, the typical love triangle movie, where the young girl does not know what she wants, has doubts about her feelings and at times wants to live her life to see what she wants.

¿De qué trata la película? Pues la película nos habla de Kelley Morse, un joven estudiante que es muy rico, su madre falleció y su padre es ausente, por lo cual el chico tiene comportamientos que no son deseados. Por otro lado, tenemos a Samantha y su novio Jasper, ambos viven en un pueblo donde tiene años de conocerse, fueron amigos y más tarde novios, pero la llegada de Kelly hace estremecer su relación, poniendo en duchas a la chica si realmente quería a Jasper. En fin, la típica película de triángulo amoroso, donde la joven no sabe lo que quiere, tiene dudas de sus sentimientos y por momentos quiere vivir su vida para ver que es lo que quiere.

These two young men also share a passion, which is poetry, so they connect more and more. In his counterpart, we have Jasper who gets into trouble after seeing that he is losing his girl, the love of his life.

Al principio Sam, como se le conoce a la chica, no tenía sentimientos, hace Kelly, lo consideraba engreído solo porque tenía dinero. Pero la realidad es que el joven era de buenos sentimientos, incluso le faltaba el amor de su madre y el poder compartir más con su padre, quien solo trabaja para poder aumentar más su fortuna. Estos dos jóvenes también comparten una pasión, que es la poesía, por lo cual cada vez se conectan más. En su contraparte, tenemos a Jasper quien se mete en problemas tras ver que está perdiendo a su chica, al amor de su vida.

A film that is considered by many to be very predictable, but the reality is different, at times it surprised me, especially for a situation that I did not expect and that changed the outcome of the story, which I think is a positive thing. Here on earth is a production of drama and youth romance, quite nostalgic at times. Although I must say that something was missing, at times something was missing, I found the story a little flat, but nothing that would ruin the whole experience and stop watching it. What I must say is that I keep things like money is not everything, it is necessary, but family and support is even more so. A parent who gives everything to their child is useless, but is absent, which often affects the lives of young people and they try to get into trouble just to get attention.

Una película que es considerada por muchos más muy predecibles, pero la realidad es otro, por momentos me llegó a sorprender, sobre todo por una situación que no me esperaba y que cambio el desenlace de la historia, por lo cual me parece algo positivo. Aquí en la tierra es una producción de drama y romance juvenil, bastante nostálgica por momentos. Aunque se debo decir que me falto algo, por momentos se faltó algo, me parecía la historia un poco plana, pero nada que arruinase la experiencia en su totalidad y dejara de verla. Lo que sí debo decir es que me quedo con cosas como que el dinero no lo es todo, es algo necesario, pero la familia y el apoyo lo es aún más. De nada sirve un padre que le dé todo a su hijo, pero es ausente, la cual suele afectar en la vida de los jóvenes y tratan de meterse en problemas simplemente para llamar la atención.

As people we should give ourselves the task of getting to know people, not judge at first sight, because usually there is usually a reason for the behavior of others. It is also important to follow our heart, to be happy no matter what they say, of course, always trying not to hurt a third party. A movie that although I expected a little more, it did bring tears to my eyes for several moments and I must say that I enjoyed most of the story. Here on Earth is nothing more than a film that makes us reflect on life, people's behavior, what love really is and if at some point we get to feel those true feelings.

Como personas debemos darnos la tarea de conocer a las personas, no juzgar a primera vista, porque normalmente suele haber uno porque del comportamiento de los demás. También es importante seguir nuestro corazón, ser felices sin importar el que dirán, claro, siempre tratando de no hacerle daño a un tercero. Una película que si bien me esperaba un poco más, sí que me sacó las lágrimas por varios momentos y debo decir que disfruté de la mayor parte de la historia. Aquí en la tierra no es más que una película que nos hace reflexionar sobre la vida, el comportamiento de las personas, lo que es realmente el amor y si en algún momento llegamos a sentir esos sentimientos tan verdaderos.

Chris Klein was who gave life to the young Kelly Morse, Leelee Sobieski played Samantha Cavanaugh, while Josh Hartnett gave life to the character of Jasper. A cast that at first I thought was okay, but I must say that like the story I missed a little more of them, but it may also be due to the script and the direction that was given to the film. In general, the cast was good. As for the cinematography, I must say that it is one of the strongest points of the film, quite beautiful places that are a pleasure to appreciate. Finally, we have the soundtrack, which is the best part of the film, especially in the saddest moments where the film reaches us, so much so that if you are sentimental, it will bring tears to your eyes, as was my case.

Chris Klein fue quien le dio vida al joven Kelly Morse, Leelee Sobieski hizo de Samantha Cavanaugh, mientras que Josh Hartnett le dio vida al personaje de Jasper. Un cast que en un principio me pareció correcto, pero debo decir que al igual que la historia me faltó un poco más de ellos, pero también puede que se debe al guion y a la dirección que se le dio a la película. En general, el reparto estuvo bien. En cuanto a la fotografía, debo decir que es uno de los puntos más fuertes de la película, lugares bastante hermosos que dan gusto apreciar. Finalmente, tenemos la banda sonora, que es lo de mejor de la película, sobre todo en los momentos más tristes donde la película nos llega, tanto así que si eres sentimental, te sacará las lágrimas, tal como fue mi caso.

Here on Earth is a film that is not the best I've seen of the genre, but I can keep several aspects that are positive, such as the different messages that we can get from the story, where in the end we can reflect on various aspects of life. A film that is by no means perfect, but it is not the worst I've seen. Would I recommend it? If you are a lover of the genre, obviously yes, but I think it is a production that maybe is not for everyone. 7/10 is the score I would give it, an ok movie and nothing more to say.

Aquí en la tierra es una película que no es de lo mejor que he visto del género, pero me puedo quedar con varios aspectos que son positivos, tal como es los diferentes mensajes que podemos sacar de la historia, donde al final podemos reflexionar sobre varios aspectos de la vida. Una película que para nada es perfecta, pero tampoco es de lo peor que he visto. ¿La recomendaría? Si eres amante del género, obviamente sí, pero pienso que es producción que tal vez no es para todo el mundo. 7/10 es la puntuación que le daría, una película correcta y nada más que decir.
