The commercial, a vehicle to humanize ourselves
I have had to listen to a large number of friends and relatives complain about the holidays: Christmas, Mother's or Father's Day and even Children's Day. Many do so arguing that they are dates of a commercial nature, created to get money from us, to exploit our emotionality and thus enrich themselves.
The truth is that I find them very right, but something that we have not noticed is that thanks to these holidays, with their own spirit: sharing, entertaining and honoring, is that many of us take the time to be, go or simply get closer to our relatives .
We have 365 days and most of the year we are unable to remember a message or a call for our loved ones, but with the emphasis placed on business, we do not forget and we ride the wave of celebrating, making everyone happy. the beings we love.
I understand that it is not ideal, that the correct thing is that from our sincere hearts we could be on the lookout, remembering dates, people and moments to entertain them properly.
The ordinary tells us that we are children, that we forget our parents, that if it weren't for Christmas, many of us would not take the time to think about others. We do it because the spirit of these celebrations imbues us and our humanity emerges.
It shouldn't be like that, that's what many tell me, but think of that mother who only sees her son once a year, do you think she cares that it's for a mere birthday? No! She enjoys that day, no matter the reasons.
My prayer is that we can be better people and if the commercial is a vehicle to humanize us, I thank God for these holidays.
