Es muy común el pensar que estudiar oratoria es inscribirse en algún instituto o contratar algún profesional que le forme en este arte, olvidándonos que cosas que hacemos de manera común es parte de ese proceso de aprendizaje.
It is very common to think that to study public speaking is to enroll in an institute or hire a professional to train you in this art, forgetting that the things we do in a common way are part of the learning process.
Esta forma de pensar se debe en gran medida al hecho que la oratoria como arte social, es, por desdicha, el área donde más tips erróneos, falacias o mitos han compartido y masificado los libros de autoayuda.
Por consiguiente, deseo compartirte tres cosas que hacemos a diario y que es parte de un proceso no formal de estudiar oratoria:
Therefore, I want to share with you three things that we do on a daily basis that is part of a non-formal process of studying public speaking:
- Reading. Going to a book, magazine or web information is an enriching experience that we can take advantage of when giving a few words or sharing a message.
- Watching videos. We consume a large amount of videos every day, whether through social networks, TV or movies, and by taking advantage of this we can discover techniques, structures and artifices to improve our speeches.
Si revisas bien, ninguna de las tres acciones que menciono necesitan un esfuerzo extraordinario, lo que sí nos exigen es tener intención, conciencia y dominio que son la triada que postulamos en IAFO como bases del arte de la oratoria.
If you review well, none of the three actions I mention need an extraordinary effort, what they do require is to have intention, awareness and mastery, which are the triad that we postulate in IAFO as the basis of the art of public speaking.
