In this article you will see spoilers for the entire movie, so if you haven't seen the movie yet and you don't want to get spoiled, I wouldn't suggest you to read any further.
The movie starts off in the past when our main character Elise Rainier the parapsychologist was just a little girl in the time of war and electrocutions. She then started to understand and develop her "powers" but this is not something his dad (Gerald Rainier) wants to agree on and she brutally beats her daughter with his walking stick.
Elise has a younger brother named Christian Rainier, who had a whistle gifted to him by their mother Audrey Rainier but the demons stole it and the brother mostly forgot about it.
Elise was the only one who could see the paranormal creatures etc, but her mother believed her and wanted this to be their secret between Elise and Audrey. One day when Gerald got annoyed of Elise's stupid jokes about seeing things again, she but her in the basement as an punishment. Elise heard some voices saying to open the door after what she realized later, that she unlocked a powerful demon.
Audrey came to release Elise from the basement, but she was already captured by the demon who hanged and killed her. Elise then realized what had happened and ran away from home, leaving his brother with his father to be.
This movie is a must watch, the series having done an incredible movie that should actually be the first one in the series.
The movie then continues with his crew that was used in previous sequels - Specs and Tucker.

When Elise one day receives a call from a young guy saying that there is something going on in his house he recently bought and gave Elise the address, she immediately froze and rejected the guy.
She than gave a long think before agreeing to do this, but she wants to do this alone.
Of course the crew didn't agree with it and they bought a big van/bus where they could sit back and look at Elise's view from the cameras.
Elise then agreed to stay in her old bedroom for the night, because she usually brings all the evil spirits out, she starts looking around the room remembering her old things, and under the bed finding his brothers whistle, that she immediately wears around her neck. She then sees that someone is standing behind the door and Elise starts running towards the door to see the demon or whoever is behind there, she is lead downstairs and towards the kitchen-like room, where the crew can see better because of the night-vision cameras they had installed on her. They then say for Elise that be careful, there is someone in front of you, she reaches out her hand and wants to touch her when immediately being attacked and the whistle being stolen.
The crew runs in to help her and they agree that that's it for the night and they pack their things. The next morning at a coffee place, they run into a couple of girls, and Elise thought she recognized them somehow, because they looked familiar. Then comes in an older man, who appeared to be Elises brother - Christian with his daughters, Imogen and Melissa Rainier. Christian snaps and blames Elise for leaving him there with their father and Elise starts crying and apologizes but he ain't buying it and he's going away angry.
After driving away, one of the girls approached Elise and asked if it's really true etc. Elise hands her a picture of the whistle and asks for her to give it to Christian.
Little bit later they want to go in the house again and using the help of Tucker, because he's the stronger and tougher guy, they enter the house with Tucker.
They started following the sound of the whistle and ended up getting to the basement, where they needed to open an locked and hidden door. After unlocking it they find a prisoner, locked in there and instantly get a gun aimed at their head from the current house owner saying that they went in too deep and this is not where they want to be. The guy locks them in and goes looking for Specs who ran into the house as soon as he heard what's going on. They then fought and the owner gets killed by a shelf falling on his head.
The police was called, the girl was saved etc - she was missing for 4 months by the way, so everyone was pretty happy.
They also got back the whistle.
A bit time later when the crew was giving testimonies in the Police Department, Christian and her daughters headed to the house and started looking for the whistle in the house. Melissa got dragged to the basement and got attacked by the demon, locking her vocals and later locking her hearth. Elise saw Melissa spirit in the Police Department and immediately now somethings up and got to the house as soon as possible, she knew exactly where Melissa will be and she was there.
Melissa was taken to the hospital where she was unconscious for a long time, but back for that a bit later.
Imogen then talked to Elise, that she can also see things, and a while back she knew that her neighbor will die that night before anyone else did, on a mental level and for that Christian wasn't happy.
Elise then wanted to go after Melissa's soul to the underworld to fight the demons etc, but got herself trapped.
Imogen then jumped into the hypnosis and went after both of them, she was aided by the spirit of a bloody girl from before, who wanted to help getting rid of the bad demon.
Imogen and Melissa was taken into prisoner in the mental world and Melissa was even stabbed by the demon. The demon then moved towards Elise, to mute her vocals and to close her heart. Imogen had the whistle which she threw to Elise. After blowing the whistle her mom came as a spirit and bashed the demon with an lantern - killing it.
Elise was so happy, because she remembered what her mom told Christian when he was small - Just blow this whistle and I will be there, wherever you are, whenever
Everyone survived after heading back to the spirits, Elise and Audrey did a big hug and she thanked her mother a lot for helping beat her biggest and most fearsome demon yet. They then headed back to reality. Elise, the crew and Imogen rushed to the hospital to see how Melissa is doing and since she was alive and everything was good, they were all happy.
Elise gave Christian his whistle and Christian started crying and apologized in front of Elise.
Elise then saw a dream about Dalton, the boy from the first episode being chased by a demon and got scared up because of this, after what followed with a phone call from his mother saying that there is something going after Dalton.
This was pretty much the first episode of the whole sequel, just released a lot later and made a tad bit interesting.
I really loved the movie and I really loved writing this post right now.
The movie had a ton of jump scares and frightening moments, but it also had funny moments etc. For the first time, I actually wanted to leave the movie at some point, becuase I was so freaking scared for my life haha.
Anyway I would rate this movie 8.8/10!
