After running out of machine gun ammo, I neutralized an elite rebel and defeated the machine. Investigating the camp with Atekka, I uncovered data revealing that the rebels were luring machines here for overrides. Discovering a functional ballista, I scanned the dam and located an explosive sac to detonate.
Now that I lost ammo of that machine gun, I had to take down one of the elite rebels there using my own arsenal, swapping to my bow to pierce through his heavy chest armor before he could close the distance.
And then I noticed the big machine was still around, and it came to attack me. So I started attacking it back without knowing how hard it would be.
But suddenly, the machine attacked me. And then I realized the lava fire was not coming from the machine gun. It came from this machine only, as the machine did it again.
I jumped back on foot and I started attacking the machine real good till it gets down. And once I was done with the machine, I went close to it to loot its resources.
Once I was done getting rid of the machine and all those rebels, Atekka mentioned she saw something over by the dam. And it was a device that I had to examine next.
After examining the device, I found it's a machine lure that explains all the machines around, but Aloy was confused why the rebels put it here. Mentioning her focus should show more. And now I have to investigate the rebel camp to know more.
After finding machine scrap and broken core operator components used for overrides, I found a message for Gunda from one of the sons of Prometheus that says the rebels were about to leave, but they saw an opportunity and seized it.
Then I found this ballista. And Atekka mentioned there is one of these at the grove in the arena to put down machines. And Aloy understood the rebels were luring machines here so they could override them. But they couldn't get them all, so they killed some with the ballista, that formed the dam.
Well, then I used the ballista to check it out, and it looked like it was still functioning. And now I was really sad that I didn't use it against that big machine.
Then Attika asked if I can break the dam, and after scanning the dam, I noticed there is an explosive sac from a machine inside the dam. And one hit could blow the whole thing up. I just needed to find a way to expose it.
