Slowly but surely we are getting settled in our Florida home. But I do remember the good times I had working on my land in Ohio. Maybe we can go back up next summer.
Remember the pretty northern home I showed you near Hillsboro. It is in the photo above.
It looks to be a comfortable home for the occupants. Cold weather shouldn't be a problem for them.
I have posted it again for those that may have missed it the first time.
What we will finally build on our land will not look like that. But, I would want something that looks at least sensible. I have a lot of work to do before any building will be done though.
I remember the days of summer and autumn as I was working on mowing and clearing the land. It was so interesting.
But now we are in Florida. There is much we can do here as well. The work never ends it seems.
Now when we go to the stores here in Florida. This is what we see.
That is our snow here in Florida. Ha
Enough of that. What are we doing here on the Florida Homestead?
OK. It is a stretch to call this place a "homestead." lol
Let us look at what Pat is doing. We will sneak around there and look while she isn't there. Ha
As you can see. She is hard at work doing something. We will get to see what it will look like when she is finished. She must like rocks. lol
I was finally able to get enough time to start working on my garden. I have never had a garden in Florida. I had always had some citrus trees. Florida doesn't seem like a place to be doing much work with the beaches and the restaurants calling out to us all the time. We try to maintain some balance to all the shopping and playing though.
Everything a human needs is so close and appealing. We call it a "Paradise."
Back to the new garden spot.
When we came here. My garden spot was full of weeds and some flowers. I like flowers. But I need a garden spot. I will keep some flowers in my garden though. They are so pretty and add an attractive look to our growing garden.
So I added three Poinsettias. They should look good for this holiday season.
I like to use organic when I can. Sometimes the prices are too high though.
Most older people from the farm life hate to see waste. Pat is no different. She had me drag down two tomato plants from Ohio. I would not have done that. But, I know better than to argue with her. Ha. Over the years. I have learned when to speak and when to be silent. Sometimes I still get into trouble though. lol
One last look from a distance at the new garden spot.
It reminds me of the very good song "From A Distance" by Bette Midler. Pat and I were dating when I first listened to this song.
