I took a break from traveling for a while just because PRIORITIES!
I'm not by any means a travel blogger but I love traveling. I was cleaning out my laptop storage and found my photos from the times I went to Boracay (The beach party capital of the Philippines) and thought I had to share it with all of you.
I've managed to to condense all my photos and videos into mini montage of my time I spent on the island.
Boracay is divided into three stations. If crowded place isn't your thing then "DON'T GO TO BORACAY". It gets busy thru day ang night.Vendors everywhere so brace yourselves. But if partying is your thing, then by all means "GO TO BORACAY", its the place to be.
Going to Boracay is not difficult. You have to choose between the two airports. Kalibo or Caticlan. Caticlan is the best option which is 5 kilometers away from the Island. 15 minute boat ride from the port. Plenty motorized tricycle-drivers are waiting in front of the airport building to transfer passengers to "Caticlan Jetty Port". One ticket "Environmental Fee" (75 pesos), another ticket for the "Terminal Fee" (100 pesos), as well as a ticket for the ferry of your choice. Note: 100 pesos Terminal Fee is also collected on the way back from Boracay to Caticlan.
Note: Upon arriving the Caticlan port. you will be welcomed by a different travel agencies offering different packages from hotels,boat charters, eco tours, hotel transfers, both land and water activities.
THINGS TO DO THERE:
ATV- go on a road adventure. Drive all the way to the highest point in Boracay. Prepare for a bumpy ride.
rate: rental for 1.5 hrs 1250php
BIKING - there's more to Boracay than the beach. During our bike tour, I got to see the "other side" of Boracay. Biking is one of the most affordable means of exploring the island.
rate: Bicycle rental 100php per hour.
We dropped by to the ever famous shake in the island, the Jonah's Shake. I have been loving Choco Banana ever since I started going to Boracay which is almost every summer. So crazy good! Even though tons of things have changed in Boracay at least Jonah's remains.
Price ranges from 100 - 190php
BANANA BOAT RIDE - the number one water activity that is whole lotta fun is banana boat, of course. It's one of the most popular activities around the island.
rate: 1500php for a minimum of 5 persons for a 15minute ride.
ISLAND HOPPING - take a walk at the beach of Puka Island. A little slice of Island paradise away from the crowd yes?
rate: 1500 - 3000php for 1 to 6 persons (inclusive of lunch but not other fees)
STARBUCKS BORACAY - the only starbucks branch in the Philippines where it's okay to wear swimsuit inside the coffeeshop. Expect a higher price than usual.
SUNSET WATCHING - my favorite thing to do in Boracay and its absolutely free! The charm of Boracay's sunset never gets old. Most of you know that I love sunsets. I've already seen a lot of sunsets in the Philippines, but there was nothing to compare in Boracay.
Aside from reveling at nature. I also had fun people-watching. It has always been my favorite past time observing people.It seems that we have these sort of "connection" with the other tourist. We sort of all knew why we're there and what we're there for.
BEACH PARTY - There are many different nightlife venues to choose from – from wild parties, to bars, to lounges with live music…
My personal favorite is the EPIC BAR which is located in Station near D'Mall.
It’s one of the more classy clubs in terms of looks.
Entrance fee: 300 up depending on the event.
Do it yourself activities - are things that you can do on your own, without booking at any third party. They revolve around visiting & exploring places, eating and drinking, and shopping.
Yes, Boracay is a place that "we" Filipinos can go and be proud!
