It's hard to start talking about everything going on and what should be done yet easy to say what we need to have done for ourselves. Yet I am left thinking.... I can self govern, I know to keep a distance if need be, I know to wash my hands, I am responsible, and I know to take care of myself and my kids to give them a healthy and strong immune system and gut flora. I know that not to trust and what to stay away from. But with the current events going on in the world, my thoughts on people being capable of doing this for themselves as well have lowered in expectancy. I know people say this a lot "my hope for humanity has decreased" but in this case I am taken back (aback?) and see these people creating chaos that are just....wow! I am talking about the riots. Not the protesters, but the rioters. They are not the same yet on the news they are calling them all protesters, and now in Alberta ( i think it is) it has become illegal to protest. So when something is wrong and it calls for a protest in order to ...say..protect the indigenous lands or protect the waters and no one wants to listen there is nothing the people can do about it without dealing with any severe repercussions. So back to rioting, starting in the US for the Black Lives Matter movements, people were protesting...but some of the rioters used this opportunity to break into business, steal, start fires, they were doing it to businesses that had nothing to do with the current events, they were businesses owned by black people and perhaps they weren't all owned by black people but if this is to help raise a much needed awareness why make more problems? It is completely stupid because now military will be put into place, the protesting and riots are spreading, causing movement in other countries, protesting is fine but its the riots... so what will happen now that the US raised world wide awareness in a violent manner? New laws will be created, restrictions will be held down harder, chaos will continue, more violence, more fear, more brutality and oh my lord the list goes on. Like what is driving these people to make these motions during these times when we are already are on the verge of losing our rights completely? It's the tip of the iceberg? Or is there more?
Keeping note that I am not against the BLM movement, I think it is something that is much much needed. I am stating this again because when someone raises a voice of concern people come back saying racist, causes arguments etc. And just to add to it to help readers believe and understand that I am NOT against it, I come from a bloodline that has gone through the same brutality, the same violence. No it is not happening to me, but it has happened to the generation of my grandfather and before him leaving behind a family of more violence and drug and alcohol abuse.
Is it not concerning that I even have to state that in your post in order to protect myself? Either have a voice and protect or not have a voice at all. Pay the price either way. Oh my god this world has gone to shit!
Sorry for all of this, I haven't been to supportive and proactive in response to what you wrote. I do think these are things people need to seriously think about on a deep level because what happens today we pay for tomorrow.
