And suddenly the fog started to rise. For many of you this is daily life. But not for me. I live in a sunny place and I rarely experience this kind of weather conditions. Being high in the mountains, on the shore of a lake, lost in the fog is something that happens to me, once in a decade. Watching the fog rise and the scenery gradually revealing itself was an experience unique, almost mystical.
It reminded me the feeling of developing a photograph in the darkroom and watching it appear on the paper, before my eyes. The same thrill, even more beauty!
Wherever I was looking there was a surprise. As the veil of fog was removed, it revealed more hidden parts. The trees, the mountains, the sky, they became all gradually visible in an eerie, yet mesmerising ambiance. A few visitors were enjoying the view and I could not stop myself taking more and more pictures :)
Although this is an artificial lake, less than 30 years old, it has integrated in the scenery so well that you can't tell that it wasn't there for ever. The abundant nature around it doesn't show any signs of human intervention, apart, of course, from the road that leads there. I don't know much about the environmental impact of such projects but the result is definitely pleasing to the eye!
And the birds sounded happy too :)
I wonder if you find those pictures so wonderful as I do, please let me know in the comments. I don't usually post a lot of pictures from the same spot but I love them all so much that I just couldn't pick less :)
This was the third part of the small trip that we did last weekend and turned out much more interesting and fulfilling than we ever expected!
The first part was The perfect detour and the second one was Rising hope.
Have a lovely weekend ahead!
The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 850D with an EF-S 18-135mm lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic
All the pictures and the words are mine.
