Nafplio has many wonderful routes for walking and ever since I moved here, I have the daily pleasure to enjoy one of them. There is one though, by far my favourite! It is only one kilometre (0,6 mile) long but boy, is it beautiful!

The funny thing is that it is "forbidden" to walk on that route! There has been some falling of rocks in the past, that makes it dangerous. The authorities "solved" the problem the Greek way. They did nothing but closing the door and putting signs :)

And the people (locals and tourists) reacted the Greek way too. They ignored the sings and entered from the side :)

The start of the trail is right above the beach of Arvanitia. It is the beach that I usually go for swimming and I have shown in my blog more than once, including in my previous post.

The unusual location of this path makes it truly mesmerising! The wonderful sea of the Argolic golf on one side and an imposing vertical cliff, leading to the castle of Acronafplia, on the other, are creating a unique combination. Countless prickly pears hanging from the cliff, pine trees and wild vegetation are completing the puzzle of the scenery.

And happy walkers in between :)

The bright, winter sunshine made the walk even more pleasant than usual. The temperature was great for walking, the air was crystal clear and the light much better than the summer!

Everything was ideal :)

Every now and then, there are stone stairs leading to the sea, offering plenty swimming spots across the coastline, other than the beach itself!

The carved tunnel is one of my favourite spots in a route that I already love too much :)

On the end of the trail there is one more locked door to remind me the craziness of my country :)

This is my contribution to the #wednesdaywalk challenge, hosted by tattoodjay@tattoodjay!
