Usually when I present a town, the panoramic shot during dusk is the last one, a favorite way to close my post. But today I'll start with that. As well as a few more dusk shots and a night walk at the old neighborhood.
Although it was February when I visited, the weather was pretty mild so a photo walk among the centenarian buildings, lit by the street lights, sounded like a good idea. And looking at the pictures now, I can say that it wasn't a bad one!
The town that I am talking about is Naousa, at the Imathia region, in north Greece. Used to be known for its textile factories but now it is mostly known for its viticulture. Visiting a vintner is a must when you are in town and a perfect opportunity to learn about the history of wine making and taste some of the famous local wines!
A perfect way to start your day is with a nice walk at the Municipal Park. An objectively beautiful park and a very impressive one considering the size of this small town (the population is less than 20.000).
If you have done all the way to come here you might as well pay a visit to the "School of Aristotle". It is an archaeological site were not one, but two of the biggest "stars" of ancient's Greece history meet. It is the place were the great philosopher Aristotle was teaching and the place were the young Alexander the Great (before he becomes great) was taught!
