What are those practices that your grandfather would disagree with?

Well my grandfather grew up in a poor family doing farm-work from a very young age, out of necessity. When the chemical fertilisers and pesticides come in Greece, he saw them as the answer to many of his troubles. And he remained a huge fan of them till the end. Myself I have no interest in working with the land if it is to be done through chemicals. I'd rather not do it at all. So the practices that he would disagree are almost everything that natural farming or even permaculture stands for :)
