Hi!
There is another place ahead of us, which I visited with a friend with the camera as part of our joint photo trips to various regions of western Poland. We drove into the forest again, but not to capture beautiful nature frames. Fort Sarbinowo was our destination, located in the city of Kostrzyn nad Odrą at ul. Sportowa. Below I will briefly present his history and what it looks like in the photos below, i.e. what is left of it.

Przed nami kolejne miejsce, które odwiedziłem wraz kolegą z aparatem w ramach naszych wspólnych wypadów fotograficznych w różne rejony zachodniej Polski. Ponownie wjechaliśmy do lasu, lecz nie po to aby uchwycić piękne kadry przyrody. Naszym miejscem docelowym został Fort Sarbinowo położony w mieście Kostrzyn nad Odrą przy ul. Sportowej. Poniżej przedstawię krótko jego historię oraz jak wygląda w obecnych czasach na poniższych zdjęciach, czyli to co z niego pozostało.
The fort was built in the 1880s. It is one of the four forts of the Kostrzyn Fortress next to the forts: Czarnów, Gorgast and Żabice. However, it is the most impressive of them.
Fort powstał w latach 80-tych XIX wieku. Jest to jeden z czterech fortów Twierdzy Kostrzyn obok fortów: Czarnów, Gorgast i Żabice. Jest on jednak z nich najbardziej imponujący.
There are many different inscriptions and graffiti from different periods on the walls.
Na ścianach jest sporo różnych napisów i graffiti z różnych okresów.
It was built of brick, which did not protect it well in those days against artillery.
Wybudowany został z cegły co nie chroniło go już zbyt dobrze w tamtych czasach przed artylerią.
Fort Sarbinowo is located in the forest, which can be seen in some photos.
Fort Sarbinowo położony jest w lesie co chyba widać na niektórych zdjęciach.
During World War I, a prisoner-of-war camp was established there.
W czasie I wojny światowej był w nim utworzony obóz jeniecki.
During World War II, it contained ammunition. The fort has never been involved in combat operations.
W czasie II wojny światowej była w nim składana amunicja. Fort nigdy nie brał udziału w działaniach bojowych.
After World War II, ammunition was detonated in the fort, which caused it to be destroyed.
As you can see in the photos, everywhere on the ground there are bricks and other parts of walls, stairs and ceilings.
Po II wojnie światowej na terenie fortu była detonowana amunicja, przez co został on zniszczony.
Tak jak widać to ma zdjęciach wszędzie na ziemi są cegły i inne części ścian, schodów czy stropów.
We did not visit the entire fort because it is partially collapsed and you cannot get everywhere. More importantly, it's not safe to get everywhere, so it's better to give up.
Nie zwiedziliśmy całego fortu, ponieważ jest on częściowo zawalony przez co nie wszędzie można się dostać. Co ważniejsze nie wszędzie można bezpiecznie się dostać, więc lepiej zrezygnować.
The fort is still visited by tourists despite the fact that it is officially forbidden to enter its area due to the poor condition of the building.
Fort ciągle jest odwiedzany przez turystów pomimo tego iż oficjalnie jest tam zakaz wstępu na jego teren ze względu na zły stan obiektu.
