Hi!
My good friend is very fond of photographing cranes. Once I went with him on one of his photographic expeditions. You had to get up almost in the middle of the night to reach the place quietly before dawn, because it is very easy to startle them. In addition, the area where they are staying is swampy, so the approach to the place required a lot of caution.
Below is a report from our photo session.

Mój dobry kolega bardzo lubi fotografować żurawie. Kiedyś wybrałem się z nim na jedną z jego wypraw fotograficznych. Trzeba było wstać niemal w środku nocy aby dotrzeć po cichu na miejsce przed świtem, ponieważ bardzo łatwo jest je spłoszyć. Do tego teren na którym przebywają jest bagnisty, więc podejście na miejsce wymagało sporej ostrożności.
Poniżej zamieszczam relację z naszej fotograficznej sesji.

Of course, not only cranes stayed in these areas.

More birds making a flight in the sky over the wetlands. All the time different groups of different birds were flying in front of us.
Kolejne ptaki robiące przelot na niebie nad mokradłami. Cały czas różne grupy różnych ptaków przelatywały przed nami.
At one point, a huge flock of birds appeared in the sky. I don't know what kind of birds they were or how many there might have been.

However, the main group of cranes we observed was still in the same place.
Natomiast obserwowana przez nas główna grupa żurawi nadal przebywała w tym samym miejscu.
After some time, a large boar passed in front of us unexpectedly.
Po jakimś czasie niespodziewanie przed nami przeszedł duży dzik.
After that, a few smaller ones..
Po nim kilka mniejszych.
Later, the cranes must have heard us and soared into the sky.
Później żurawie chyba nas usłyszały i wzbiły się w niebo.
Then another big boar passed by, this time with five little ones.
Później przeszedł kolejny duży dzik, tym razem z pięcioma małymi.
The only thing left for us to do is to observe and photograph the cranes flying in the sky above our heads.
Nam pozostało już tylko obserwowanie i fotografowanie żurawi latających na niebie nad naszymi głowami.
On this trip I got to know better the limitations of my then photographic equipment. The camera sensor gave a lot of noise at higher ISO. The autofocus on the camera combined with the lens was slow. The lens itself had too short a focal length, which is why some of the above photos are cropped in the photo processing program.
Na tej wyprawie poznałem lepiej ograniczenia mojego ówczesnego sprzętu fotograficznego. Matryca aparatu dawała sporo szumu na wyższych ISO. Autofocus w aparacie w połączeniu z obiektywem był powolny. Sam obiektyw miał zbyt krótką ogniskową, dlatego część powyższych zdjęć jest przekadrowana w programie do obróbki zdjęć.
Finally, an example of a photo where the shutter speed was too long due to the above limitations, so the birds were blurred and the result was an abstract photo.
Although in general it was worth going for this photographing, due to these limitations after this trip I did not go on another such trip. I just expected myself to take some technically better pictures.
I changed the camera, I am saving money for a new telephoto lens, so in the future I will want to repeat such an outing.
Na koniec przykład zdjęcia, gdzie czas migawki był zbyt długi ze względu na powyższe ograniczenia, więc ptaki zostały rozmazane i wyszło z tego zdjęcie abstrakcyjne.
Chociaż ogólnie warto było się wybrać na to fotografowanie, to jednak przez te ograniczenia po tej wyprawie już na kolejne tego typu nie poszedłem. Po prostu oczekiwałem od siebie wykonanie technicznie trochę lepszych zdjęć.
Aparat zmieniłem, na nowy obiektyw tele oszczędzam pieniądze, więc w przyszłości ponownie będę chciał takie wyjście powtórzyć.
