Hi everyone, It's been a while. Buy presents for Christmas, end of the year "workloads", catching up with friends and family before the end of the year, etc... you probably know the drill.
... apart from the fact that we are effectively all sick 🤢 at home 😱 (except the first virus contagious kid)
Anyhow, to make this more interesting... I will share my MOvement this year!
Either way, I have been having lots of fun with EOS, tokens, games, ideas, news, networking with new EOS adventures, etc... it has been an amazing end of the year learning race!
Kind of a hard question to answer, to be honest. But let us begin with probably the perfect place for you to get around random stuff that is happening over the EOS Block Producers and the Core of EOS evolutions: @eosoceania recently announced EOS BP News on STEEM, to allow everyone the access to a concentrated view of all BPs updates. Throughout various STEEM DApps (or steemit) you can now take advantage of an automated and integrated way of watching or be notified by any EOS news feeded by
@eosbpnews.
From version 1.4.x to 1.5.x lots of changes have been causing heaps of discussion (especially on Telegram channels). And that has always a good effect on the final product quality. Basically, people, protest, care more and try to find more solutions to the problems that not always are very relevant to everyone.
At @eosoceania we keep a very aggressive testing environment for now. Due to the normal growth attitude, we wish to be apart of in order to learn the most of it. But, we understand that at some point, when (or if) the community want us to represent a bigger slice of the Distributed Proof of Stake (DPoS) podium, what we need to do in order to bring the necessary capability and service-oriented infrastructure, to support EOS Blockchain.
Just recently, v1.6.0 RC1 has been released, and as you can already imagine this becomes a pretty fast forward playground if you want to be on top of things.

Not sure how many of you might be aware, but there are already a great deal of DEXes (Decentralized Exchanges) for EOS. These make use of EOS client wallets like Scatter or others (that I will talk below) to allow you the exchange of EOS for other cryptocurrencies and/or tokens within the EOS ecosystem. There are many all over the place so, remember to always do your own research about using any of them.
As a PoC, I will leave you with 3 of the ones I must use/know of:
(there are a lot of centralized exchanges offering pairs with EOS, but those not always support the entire subset of EOS internal tokens)
A hot topic right? Yes indeed. I have been amazed by how fast EOS Blockchain infrastructure provided enough traction or "should I call it" the next generation framework for a large range of game types. Especially all those turn-based I really enjoy and which one day will be available via this technology.
Although lately, the BOOM of EOS tokens being created for games, is mostly about betting games!
That's right! Betting has become a super factory of economically sustainable DApps/tokens to develop in EOS, especially because it generates enough momentum for hypes on predicted profits from the investor side point of view. Although I believe that with time, these games will become publicly more user-driven, for now, the reality is an investor-driven one (in my view).
WARNING: Pay attention to which tokens you get involved with (always do your own research). Also, read the next two topics for you to understand more about where this is going.
@cryptonik from our team
@eosoceania is taking a leap Beta experimentation with some stats at http://www.eoscasinostats.com (I love it! 😍)
Everyone needs them! Surely a very tiny fraction of EOS users use the "cleos" client to interact with the blockchain, and that is not at all a block road towards the intended security, but instead an invitation to what we should also understand about the risks of trusting on source codes we don't have access to. Therefore we must find the equilibrium, just like in the history of human evolution.
EOS became initially very manageable my masses once Scatter came out (from the S. James guys). Also around the same time, eos-voter from @greymass and in the web apps side things like the eostoolkit (by
@genereos).
Then, the next step had to be what we all are looking for!!! Mobile market!
It's a huge area to address, because of both the population masses and the easy to use factor. Hence the value of that market. Although at such terms, other prices come into play, one of the most important ones is the trust on software that not necessarily is available to be publicly audited. For obvious reasons right? Business would never strive under open ideals... but then trade-offs need to curate the risks.
In any case, we should always try... investigate and carefully use (for now) blockchains mobile apps. On this segment, it's not entirely in our hands, so the need for caution it's much higher.
Straight to the point, regardless of those risks, I actively try stuff (that's what I like to do :)) and the following lines should only serve as guidance (don't just go for what I say, and please deliberate/investigate further). I might be wrong, and I don't want you to just depend on what I say.
The Mobile apps that I have tried and had already some weekly experience "kind of thing":
I really like this one. Due to the unique attempt to simplify everything. They are actively trying to making things better, but due to the size of the team, resources might be scarce for all the requests coming from the community. But hey! This is not low... just a sign! on probably how much popular they going to be. Hang on... I would even rather say, eventually become "perfect" portfolio solution for EOS! =)
The most enjoyable one for me and potentially the most diverse one (pleases many tastes). It's currently the one I use most. But I keep changing stuff... so watch for it! =)
Best efforts for me is the token market prices guess and the ability to add observers! For me, a MUST HAVE option. For any wallet!
3rd Place on the EOS Global Hackathon!
I also consider this one very high. Can do observers, so check! Lots of integrations and seems to work faster than others. It requires you to set the tokens you want to view (which is an amazing trick to reduce workload =), but for some this might be seen as a "less" featured option. It might change in the future I believe. Either way, I love the performance of these guys! Well done.
Powerful one! With many other crypto supported (not just EOS) and a very segregated way to manage wallets. Does not yet support observers on EOS accounts. But maybe this is actually the right way to go. After trying their app... I had the thought...
Why should everyone have to take care of "un-authenticated traffic", aka observing accounts?
Soon, it would be easier for everyone to just create a key for "observing" (read-only) their account. This would avoid unsolicited or DDoS kind of requests.
So I am going to continue observing this space to explore that approach.
The other point I really liked from Meet.one, was the amount of Partners... Quite complete!
This is a recently new one to me, but of which got my attention, and because it needs an account in order for you to proceed... made me think I should try it, to check the "quality" difference. Ask me more in 2019!
Right... now the big important topic. ICOs where believed to have ended by many financial experts... and that manually targeted the reasons Ethereum gave as a starting engine! Eventually many got so used to it, that believed it would be the only viable way to do an ICO. And, respectfully, Ethereum really made the ICO world an amazing new way to boost startups (along with much other stuff we didn't wish, but that's how crypto works... if you are NOT perfect!).
Over several iterations of trying to find the next new ICO platform, I really struggled understanding where it could take place... There were many other "known" crypto that supporting tokens could have taken the role of "ICO framework", as Ethereum took. But that has not yet happened. And for a reason... the set of requirements to really satisfy or make it a tempted framework, are not yet there!
You know where is this going right? =)
So, EOS is as FAST as s...it! With an average of 2 blocks every second... tons of capacity for transactions! Programmable contracts possible... with very similar code to normal software development codes... Using one of the most difficult to break scalable and efficient proofs, DPoS! And being the first one-year length ICO to prove, development can really take place at the same time as an investment. Do you know something else, like this?
No... I don't.
Continuing... Creating Tokens on EOS is as easy as creating them on Ethereum network nowadays. Althgouh you have much more broad ways to address problems that you could not solve while using other blockchains. Adding up the fact that anyone can invent successful Economic ecosystems, and execute those via the above features.
It has all the ingredients to become crazy hyped! Just like when Ethereum launched... but know there are a lot more people that know how it works!
Meaning potentially "more useful" ones.
Either way, EOS for me... will be the Next generation ICO platform.
EVERYONE WILL WANT TO DO AN ICO ON EOS
We are approaching the 50% mark of tokens staked! Althgouh voting is still very low... 25%!

Thanks, everyone for your contribution to blockchain space. I love this Stuff!
To end, I would like to wish you all the Warmest Christmas and Happy New Year!
I was one of them, forykw!
