Time to continue our adventure to becoming the very best. Yesterday we had to pause our adventure after some... interesting graphic problems in the emulator (you can watch the replay here: https://www.vimm.tv/view/GHwyqjK80fAP)
First we continued our adventure defeating everyone in Sprout tower. Before challenging the head sage we saw Chiren being cocky about defeating the sage before me, what a d#$k. After defeating the sage we got towards grinding some levels on our pokemon. Hoothoot was showing to be quite the asset, mostly due to his level advantage from defeating so many bellesprouts just a bit earlier.
Needless to say Hoothoot proved to be the key component to defeating the first gym's leader. The level advantage he had upon the gym's leader pokemon made the biggest difference. Once we defeated the gym we got the egg we had to bring to Prof. Elm in the beginning. He asked us to take care of it and see what it hatches into. As such we continued our journey towards Union cave.
First we defeated some wild pokemons and trainers before heading to the cave, and doing such our first evolution happened. chikorita casted off her shell and switched it for a new one. Say hello to Bayleaf. Bayleaf and Hoothoot where proving the be quite the duo while passing through the cave. Gasthly however, not so much... Ghastly has high special attack and low normal attack. And guess what type of attack Lick, the only damaging move Ghastly has, is... that's right normal.
Ok fast forward to Azalea town, where after we freed the Slowpokes from the evil claws of Team Rocket. We got into an encounter with Chire, my nemesis. I'll tell you that was one tough battle and for a moment there I was sure we where done for. But we kept our cool and managed to defeat him eventually. Still undefeated!
So that done we went to the Gym, after defeating all the trainers in the Gym we challenged the leader. To my big surprise she took out Scyther first and in heartgold scyther knows U-turn. This was proving to be way more than I expected and Hoothoot, which I thought was going to be key in defeating her was taken down very fast. At this point I was sure I'd be facing my first loss.
