Freight steam locomotives Ty3 / 43

Ty3-2.jpg

The Ty3 war steam locomotive. It was a small series on PKP, comprising only 3 pieces of the German BR 42 series preserved after World War II. The development of this series was the Ty43 series, identical locomotives, but assembled after the war from parts left by the Germans. Therefore, only a few - three copies of the Ty3 locomotive were renumbered to the Ty43 series and 126, 127 and 129. The Ty3-2 locomotive located in the Wolsztyn locomotive was Ty43-126. It was only when he was assigned to the local engine house in March 1990 that he received his original Ty3-2 number. The steam locomotive was built in the Schichau factory - in Elbląg in 1944 and has the factory number 4448. Prior to the takeover by PKP, he wore the designation 42 1427 on DR. He was stationed in the locomotives: Bydgoszcz, Piła, Poznań Franowo, Sędziszów, Gniezno. Currently, it is one of the 3 preserved locomotives of this series in Europe. He runs trains for freight and tourism. The Ty43 series belongs to the so-called German war steam locomotives, which, as in the case of Ty42 steam locomotives, were assembled in Poland after the Second World War from parts left in Polish factories of locomotives. In total, 126 items of these steam engines were assembled in Chrzanów and Poznań. It was a freight locomotive with a pressure of 18 tons per axle, intended for traffic on lines with poor surface. He had steam overpressure in a 16At boiler, 5 connected drive axles and he could drive at a speed of 80 km / h. The locomotive Ty43-123, owned by the Engine House in Wolsztyn, was built in 1949 at the Locomotive Factory in Poznań. He received the serial number 1354. He started his service in Zbąszynek, then he worked in Locomotives: Zielona Góra, Chełm, Gniezno, and since August 1989 he is in Wolsztyn, where he is used primarily for tourist trains. In the engine house there is also a Ty43-92 locomotive set as a monument, produced in 1948 at HCP Poznań (factory number 1323).
