Consumed in my mind, I began this new project, perhaps with different opinions for the viewers. The title of the art is "THE LAST LOVE". One accurate interpretation might be that of our last love who left this life, or perhaps we lost them due to life's circumstances. You might also view it from another perspective, where the warrior ended a life where they were always manipulated, always consumed, and lived depending on a love that corrupted them from within. Any opinion or interpretation, I'd love to hear in the comments. Next, I'll tell you how I created each detail with a brief explanation of my perspective.
Consumiéndome en mi mente, comencé este nuevo proyecto con quizás opiniones diferentes hacia los espectadores. El título del arte es "THE LAST LOVE". Quizás una interpretación acertada sea la de nuestro último amor que se fue de esta vida o quizás la perdimos por cuestiones de la vida. También podrías tomarla desde otro lado, donde el guerrero dio fin a una vida donde siempre lo manipularon, donde siempre fue consumido y vivió dependiendo de un amor que lo corrompía por dentro. Cualquier opinión o interpretación me gustaría saberla en los comentarios. A continuación, te relataré cómo fui creando cada detalle con una breve explicación de mi mirada.
Below, you have the superimposed images to appreciate how the idea was from the beginning and how it developed over time in this interpretation. I started by sketching on a separate piece of paper to be able to merge them and avoid mixing too many layers. In total, there were around 31 layers and, after several corrections, I removed part of the feet to blend them with the grass using a fusion technique.
I continued with the background. The field looked very bright, but it was a matter of taking some time to create a light and contrast in the grass that would attract us like insects to a light. The background was painted almost black, and illuminated with a light on the circular part of the grass. Using the warrior's lighting as a reference, I was able to enhance the brightness of his armor and the grass. I also added blood paint over his armor to give it a touch of realism.
Continué con el fondo, el campo se veía muy iluminado, pero era cuestión de tomarse cierto tiempo para crear una luz y un contraste en el pasto que nos hicieran sentir atraídos como insectos a la luz. El fondo fue pintado con un color casi negro, y se iluminó con una luz en la parte circular del pasto. Tomando como referencia la iluminación del guerrero, se pudo aclarar más el brillo de su armadura y del pasto. También agregué pintura de sangre sobre su armadura para darle un toque de realismo.
To reinforce the message of the weary warrior, or one shrouded in darkness due to his situation, I decided to add the figure of a woman. To avoid overwhelming the process of image information elimination, I carefully painted the grass to create depth around her. Since her feet do not appear in the initial image, I came up with the idea of creating a fading effect to add a magical touch to the process. Both her face and feet have a subtle dispersion.
What situation could generate many interpretations? A death, yes, but how could it occur? I came up with the idea of including a sword and, with some brushstrokes on its shadows and the blood reflected on it, creating the impression of a death caused either by the warrior or someone else. The lights were prepared for the sword apart from the layers that eventually integrated into the final image. I also had to create shadows on the woman on the ground and apply blood to her. Imagination has no limits; the limits can certainly be set by oneself in the moment of creativity. I hope you'll accompany me in the practice of my courses and let me know what you think.
¿Qué situación podría generar muchas interpretaciones? Una muerte, sí, pero ¿cómo se podría dar? Se me ocurrió la idea de incluir la participación de una espada y, con unas pinceladas en sus sombras y la sangre reflejada en ella, crear la impresión de una muerte ocasionada, ya sea por el guerrero o por alguien más. Las luces fueron preparadas para la espada aparte de las capas que terminaron integrándose al final. También tuve que crear sombras en la mujer en el suelo y aplicarle sangre.
