The woman prostrate on a cross is illuminated by the ‘miracle,’ with the arrival of cherubs who look happy to be the bearers of the message, but with a macabre smile. The woman, about to be turned into a statue to preserve the message of the miracle, repents and finds herself in a position that leaves her just outside the mould of the statue. Part of her face and arm are left out, preserving the pain for the rest of her days and the regret in her mind for having kept her faith in the miracle.
En la búsqueda de inspiración para mis realizaciones, me encontré con este resultado. Aclaro desde el principio que se trata de un concepto de religión ficticia y no se adscribe a ninguna existente. La temática se centra en la representación del milagro, pero este milagro se presenta de manera que nos resulta cruel.
La mujer postrada en una cruz es iluminada por el "milagro," con la llegada de querubines que se ven felices por ser portadores del mensaje, pero con una sonrisa macabra. La mujer, a punto de ser convertida en una estatua para conservar el mensaje del milagro, se arrepiente y se encuentra en una posición que la deja apenas fuera del molde de la estatua. Parte de su rostro y brazo quedan fuera, conservando el dolor por el resto de sus días y el arrepentimiento en su mente por haber mantenido su fe en el milagro.

A partir de estas imágenes, creé la presentación del arte final. Utilicé las herramientas necesarias para poder efectuar el concepto. Primero, realicé un corte a la estatua de la imagen y la superpuse a la cruz, que también fue recortada. El efecto debía ser el de una estatua con un hueco roto, de donde sobresaliera la cabeza. Esto me llevó un tiempo, ya que tuve que recortar la cabeza de la estatua y los brazos, ya que se encontraban en otra posición.
I needed textures that resembled rock, and upon finding them, I was able to remove parts of the faces and paint shadows on the woman's face, adjusting the colors along with the arms. Continuing the process, I replaced the arms with those of the statue and decided to position one arm lower, as if breaking free from the petrification. I used shadows extensively to darken the image and create the appearance of some lights. For the legs, I justified their partial petrification by having one leg appear missing, emphasizing the incomplete "miracle" process.
Necesitaba texturas que se asemejaran a la roca, y al encontrarlas, pude eliminar parte de los rostros y pintar sombras en el rostro de la mujer, ajustando también los colores junto a los brazos. Continué el proceso reemplazando los brazos por los de la estatua y decidí que uno de los brazos debería estar abajo, saliéndose de la petrificación. Usé sombras en su totalidad para oscurecer la imagen y crear apariciones de algunas luces. Para las piernas, utilicé como excusa que se petrificaran hasta cierto punto, dejando una pierna faltante en el proceso del "milagro".
Un fondo negro para el diseño ayudaría a sumar más oscuridad al mensaje y a la representación. Así que también agregué pinceladas de un rojo oscuro, aludiendo a la sangre, para significar aún más dolor y arrepentimiento. Me tomó mucho tiempo ajustar las luces, ya que tenían muchas perspectivas de blancos, y al terminar el diseño finalicé con 56 capas. Pero no es una excusa cuando amas realizar algo y obtienes un resultado así. Siguiendo con el relato, agregué un texto y fui eliminando partes para fusionarlo con la figura principal del diseño.
To conclude this inspiration, adding the cherubim helped me complete the conceptual design and frame everything. I cropped and removed some details for later retouching. Once positioned as desired, I used brushes to repaint the hair with details, and by darkening it, highlighted certain parts of the wings to create a dark light effect and achieve a sense of translucency. As part of the poster, I created a Latin text that explains a bit of the biblical interpretation, adding details and textures of dirt that bring depth and realism to the design.
