Recently went to the Picasso museum in Barcelona. And I have to say I was quite intrigued.
First of all, Picasso hated rules and conformity. He was outside the box.
But here's where he started...
Now as far as I'm concerned, this is a great piece. But something changed. He went all cray cray (drugs?). He didn't want to be told how to paint. He wanted to do his own thing.
And slowly he changed
He stopped caring about the common practice and started to make his own style.
He wanted to change how others painted or created. If he was going to copy something, he wanted to make it his own.
And slowly he developed his style, completely unique, a combination of acid and impatience, in my opinion. We all now know Picasso for the abstract images we see today. They're in galleries that are supposed to inspire and guide us.
This got me thinking....
Picasso didn't want to to copy or draw inspiration from others, he stared out of 1 window for a week and developed something crazy. And now we flock to his galleries to be inspired and guided, and in my opinion, that's the opposite of what he wanted
