Portal of the Mind:

Geometric and Psychedelic Self-Portrait.

Hello to the entire Alien Art Hive community!

Today I want to share with you my most recent digital editing project—a piece that explores the concept of the multiplicity of the mind and identity through sacred geometry and symmetry.

For this project, I decided to use a self-portrait as the central element, seeking to connect physical reality with a digital, cosmic, and abstract environment.

The Creative Process (Step by Step)

To provide complete transparency regarding my work and show the technical development of the piece, I’m sharing how the creation process unfolded using the layer management features in the mobile app:

1. The Reference Photo (The Raw Material)

The starting point was this self-portrait. What I liked most about this photograph for the community’s “alien” concept was the natural greenish lighting, created by the translucent ceiling of the place where I took it. This hue already gave it a mysterious and cold atmosphere, ideal for the theme I wanted to develop.

2. Duplication and Symmetry of Layers

Using EPIK’s layers panel, I duplicated my portrait 7 times. I aligned the faces symmetrically to create the illusion of “multiple dimensions” or an “omnipresent observer.” By adjusting the opacity, I made the faces blend smoothly into one another, creating a fluid transition in the center.

3. Geometric Structure and Perspective Lines

Building on the faces, I began sketching the vector elements:

I designed a series of upper concentric circles that frame the central head, simulating a sort of cosmic halo or energy field.
At the bottom, I added triangular structures aligned in perspective that simulate a portal or a path leading the viewer’s gaze directly toward the central face.

Finally, I applied a very striking background gradient with shades of yellow, orange, and pink to create contrast with the cool green and blue tones of the portraits.

This gave me the psychedelic, high-vibe finish I’d been aiming for from the start.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi más reciente trabajo de edición digital, se trata de una pieza que explora el concepto de la multiplicidad de la mente y la identidad a través de la geometría sagrada y la simetría.

Para este proyecto decidí utilizar como elemento central un autorretrato propio, buscando conectar la realidad física con un entorno digital, cósmico y abstracto.

El Proceso Creativo (Paso a Paso)

Para dar total transparencia a mi trabajo y mostrar el desarrollo técnico de la pieza, les comparto cómo fue el proceso de elaboración utilizando la gestión de capas en la aplicación móvil:

1. La fotografía de referencia (El material crudo)

(Arriba está la fotografía de mi cara,.la cuál fué la referencia principal)

El punto de partida fue ese autorretrato. Lo que más me gustó de esa fotografía para el concepto "alien" de la comunidad fue la iluminación verdosa natural, generada por el techo translúcido del lugar donde la tomé. Esta tonalidad ya le daba un aire misterioso y frío, ideal para la temática que quería desarrollar.

2. Duplicación y simetría de capas

Utilizando el panel de capas de EPIK, dupliqué mi retrato 5 veces. Alineé los rostros de forma simétrica para generar esa ilusión de "múltiples dimensiones" u "observador omnipresente". Al jugar con la opacidad, logré que los rostros se fundieran suavemente entre sí, creando una transición fluida en el centro.

3. Estructura geométrica y líneas de perspectiva.

Sobre la base de los rostros, comencé a trazar los elementos vectoriales:

Diseñé una serie de círculos concéntricos superiores que enmarcan la cabeza central, simulando una especie de halo cósmico o campo de energía.
En la parte inferior, añadí estructuras triangulares alineadas en perspectiva que simulan un portal o un camino que conduce la mirada directamente hacia el rostro central.

Aquí pueden ver una captura de pantalla de mi área de trabajo y el orden de las capas (con los vectores circulares, los triángulos y las tres fotos superpuestas):

4. Ajustes de color y ambiente psicodélico

Finalmente, apliqué un degradado de fondo muy llamativo con tonos amarillos, naranjas y rosas para generar contraste con la frialdad verde y azul de los retratos. Con esto logré el acabado psicodélico y de alta vibración que buscaba desde el inicio.

Autoría del retrato: La fotografía utilizada como base es un autorretrato propio.
Uso de Inteligencia Artificial (IA): No se utilizaron generadores de IA para la elaboración de esta pieza; todo el proceso fue realizado mediante edición manual, superposición de capas y diseño vectorial en EPIK.
