I don't think we always need a title or to label things for what they are, because for this post I could come up with a number of relevant titles—such as "beautiful nature," "rainy days," or "internal and intrusive thoughts"—and any number of phrases or words that inspire us to look out the window as we watch the rain fall.
Even though I’m working, this kind of job is pretty tough—it depends entirely on the public, and as you can imagine, the public here in Venezuela, on Punta de Mata Street in Monada, isn’t exactly a bed of roses. There aren’t hundreds of passengers—I don’t actually know the exact numbers, but I can say there are about 400 motorcycle taxis and around 300 to 500 passengers. That leaves us with an average of one or two passengers per motorcycle—meaning that if you have any kind of incident or delay, you might barely manage to get one fare in the morning.
Now, keeping these numbers in mind, we can see what happens on rainy days, when very few people use this type of transportation—when very few drivers head out to work—and yet they still have to pay the rental fee for that vehicle to make a living. It’s a tricky situation if we look at it statistically. However, on these quiet days, we can appreciate the blessings and beauty that nature gives us all the more, especially knowing the catastrophe that has occurred. in the days before—that catastrophe that has struck the country and the entire world.
By the way, I want to clarify that this post has no title because I’m not complaining, I’m not sad, I’m not venting about my problems, and I’m not 100% in awe of nature—it’s a mix of these two things that lead us to a point where we remind ourselves that we must be grateful and give ourselves those moments of gratitude to appreciate what’s around us and the opportunities that life offers us.
