- the Graffitis around calling me hahah.
The historical origin of the carnival is not very clear, but according to these parties are in honor of the beginning of the new year and the rebirth of nature.
Here in punta de mata as well as other places in Venezuela the carnival is usually celebrated with games where people wet other people, friends or family with water, also there are thematic comparsas and this time I present you the friend @dooh92 with his costume of Krampus.
Krampus, name derived from the German word krampen, means claw, son of the goddess Hel, in charge of the underworld in Norse mythology.
This Christmas beast shares some physical characteristics with creatures of ancient Greek conception, often a demonic beast that accompanies St. Nicholas during the Christmas season by punishing misbehaving children.
Legend has it that Krampus visits children's homes on the eve of St. Nicholas, December 5-6 in search of children who have misbehaved, or have no Christmas spirit.

Yesterday, however, it was the opposite, as children, adults and young people were impressed with the costumes and were more curious than terrified.
These costumes take a lot of work, time, effort and money, so they are rewarded with a sum of up to $ 500 to the first place, the goal of the friend with his costume was to break those carnival standards and bring something more of the ancient mythology to the present and maybe he can be among the top 3.
If you want to support the friend @dooh92 with his costume restoration you can send it to him through this post.
