I was riding my bike to work today, when a baby hare, a leveret, suddenly jumped out in front of me
I jammed on the brakes, barely missing the little blighter, thankfully
And what unfolded next is really unparalleled
It was all going on
The drama, the excitement, the suspense
It had it all
As we rounded the bend, and I did my best to keep him away from the highway
Two giant birds of prey descended, and the chase was on
Eventually he doubled back toward the road, away from me, and away from the fence, because running through it wasn't working
Literally hopping full speed, he managed to curve his trajectory away from the road and join up with the path we had just came down
Disappearing from my peripheral vision at some point
I don't know what happened to the birds
I had to get to work
Anyway, so I was at work

It's the weekend now, and I'm out of town, working on the dream
