Hello, hello, insect lovers! I hope you are well, this morning when I arrived home after leaving Mathias at school, I found this little one, trying to get some of the nectar from the Damiana flowers that are at the entrance of my house, I was surprised by the fact that when I approached the plant, it stayed in the same place, doing what it had gone to do at that moment, I immediately said that I had to take a picture of it, but I knew that if I went into the house for the camera, I ran the risk that when I arrived it would not be there anymore, so I proceeded with the camera of my cell phone, since I don't use it much for these shots, but there are moments that must be captured with what you have at hand.

This small butterfly is known as, Caribbean ruby-eyed and its scientific name is Perichares philetes, some say it is native to the Dominican Republic, and others that is from Cuba, the truth is that I saw it in a corner of Venezuela called Villa de Cura hahaha, quite far from either of those two countries, but with a very similar climate, so it is probably the reason to find it here, I was very struck by its big eyes, unfortunately, the quality of the image does not let you see how beautiful and striking they are for sure, however, you can notice its large size compared to the dimensions of the butterfly.

I could only take 4 pictures of this little one who at 7:00 a.m. was having breakfast in my garden, she even had breakfast before me hahaha, and according to what I could read about these little friends, it is in those early hours of the morning, that we can see them doing this kind of activities because the rest of the day they are resting in high and shady places, which makes it more difficult to see them.

¡Hola, hola, amantes de los insectos! Espero estén bien, esta mañana al llegar a casa luego de dejar a Mathias en el colegio, me encontré con esta pequeñita, tratando de obtener un poco del néctar de las flores de Damiana que están en la entrada de mi casa, me sorprendió el hecho de que cuando me acerque a la planta, esta se quedó en el mismo sitio, haciendo lo que había ido a hacer en ese momento, por lo general las mariposas rehúyen cuando alguien se les acerca tanto, de inmediato dije que tenía que tomarle una foto, pero sabía que si entraba a casa por la cámara, corría el riesgo de que al llegar ya no estuviera en el lugar, por lo que procedí con la cámara de mi teléfono móvil, ya que esta viejito no lo uso mucho para estas tomas, pero hay momentos que deben ser capturados con lo que se tiene a la mano.

Esta pequeña mariposa es conocida como, Caribeña de ojos rubí y su nombre científico es Perichares philetes, algunos dicen que es oriunda de República Dominicana y otros que es de Cuba, lo cierto es que yo la vi en un rinconcito de Venezuela llamado Villa de Cura jajaja, bastante alejado de cualquiera de esos dos países, pero con un clima bastante similar, por lo que probablemente sea el motivo de encontrarla por aquí, me llamo mucho la atención sus grandes ojos, que lamentablemente la calidad de la imagen no dejan ver lo hermosos y llamativos que son a ciencia cierta, sin embargo, se puede notar su gran tamaño en comparación a las dimensiones de la mariposa.

Solo 4 fotografías pude captar, de esta pequeña que a las 7:00 am estaba tomando su desayuno en mi jardín, incluso desayunó primero que yo jajaja, y es que según lo que pude leer de estas amiguitas, es en esas primeras horas de la mañana, que las podemos ver haciendo este tipo de actividades, pues el resto del día están en reposo en lugares altos y sombreados, lo que hace que sea más difícil verlas.
