Visiting the old Windmill in Retz

Retz is a well known wine growing area with several vinyards that are nice to visit, but I have to admit that I don't really like drinking wine. Much better or one of my favorite drinks is "Sturm" a partially fermented grape juice - the pre stadium of wine. I really like it when you can still taste a little bit sweet from the grapes but already the sour taste of the wine. I really could drink so much of it and whenever I visit wine growing areas in late summer early autumn I try to get several of these "Sturm" drinks along with some bacon and bread. For me this is one of the best experiences, and I have to admit that I recently bought a Sturm and still have some of it at home. After writing this article here I will treat myself with it.

I really like the look of this old building and I think it is nice that older buildings like this still exist and tell something about our past. Now this Windmill is a museeum and you can learn a lot about the wheat they used to grind there with the help of the wind. It is interesting how fast the industrialization and the availability of electrical power has changed this kind of flour creation. All of the Flour creation is industrialized and done with electricity today. Sad that this old tradition has not survived, but at least we can still find some of these old windmills. Or do you know still an old windmill that is producing flour with the power of the wind??? Tell me in the comments.
