On my trip to Eastern Austria I found this little bittern sitting in between the reed while I was hiding in the hut looking for some birds there at the waterponds. The little bittern was well hidden but when it moved I saw it and quickly took some pictures of it. It is one of the birds that is usually not so easy to find since it is often hiding deep in between the reedlings. During winter it lives in Africa and in summer it comes to Europe to breed and live. In Vienna I have a spot where it can be found and where it is not so shy so you have the chance to see it running over the water lilies.

But this bird I didn't find at my usual spot in vienna but in Lower Austria this time. I am happy that I can add different new spots for different birds to my list and I am tracking their occourance so I have greater chance to see it again in some future trips also.
