Yesterday i was on a wildlife photography tour with Tanja in Vienna and lower Austria. We visited the hamsters, the groundsquirrels once again and took some pictures. At the Cementary where the hamsters are situated we saw a hedgehog wandering around, and both of us where stunned. They are pretty seldom during the day and i have never cought one on camera till now. Most of the time hedgehogs wake up in the night and look for food at this time. During the day you might only be able to see them very seldom. But we had the luck and found this small hedgehog in vianna. It was enjoying the sun and wasn't bother by us taking pictures of it as long as we kept enough distance.

Unfortunately the light was already a bit dark and it was not easy to get some nice pictures in this light conditions. Even with high ISO, the exposure times stayed pretty slow. But still i was able to catch at least 2 reasonable pictures. I remember very well when i was young my grandmother always made a pile of leaves in her garde for the hedgehogs, she loved them very much because they ate the slugs that where threatening my grandmothers salad and vegetable plants in her garden.
