🌅 A Different Sunrise in Puerto Abajo: Finding the Bright Side of Routine[ESP-ENG]

Hi, my friends at @hivemargarita and all over the world—how are you spending your days? Today I’m writing to you with a heart full of good vibes and lots of saltpeter, hahaha hahaha. As many of you already know, in Venezuela we have to adapt and get through each day, no matter the circumstances, and today it was my turn to tackle the infamous task of standing in line to fill up on gas.

Normally, this could be a headache, but since I’m on vacation and had time on my side, I decided to plan ahead. My husband usually handles this task, so we agreed early on—I told him, “I’ll go first thing in the morning and take care of it while I have these days off,” because I really wanted to see a beautiful sunrise on the beach. So I grabbed my keys, got in the car, and headed straight out to get the job done.

Now, I’ll tell you the secret of why this line didn’t bother me at all. If there’s one thing I can say in its defense—the only thing I really like about this process—it’s the place where we have to wait. It turns out that the line forms right around Puerto Abajo Beach, right here in my beloved Antolín del Campo Municipality, which is where I live.

To be honest, Puerto Abajo isn’t exactly my favorite beach on the whole island, but it does have its charm. It’s our municipality’s little beach—a very local, small-town, humble, and beautiful spot. It’s a small space where people from our community gather all the time. It’s the perfect meeting place to make a sancocho, fire up a grill, share a family meal, and bring the kids. Since it’s a flat beach with calm waters, the little ones can play safely while the adults chat in the shade.

So being here early this morning gave me a truly special moment. The sunrise was simply breathtaking—the kind that reconciles you with life and makes you appreciate every moment, no matter how difficult it may be. The beach looked divine, tempting me to jump right in. I couldn’t resist and took this little photo that I’m sharing with you. I wanted to capture the moment as a keepsake, but also to show the whole world what a wonderful beach we have here in Antolín. We need to give our own place some good publicity, because what’s made at home deserves to be cherished and shown off. In the end, life is all about the attitude you choose to view things with.

Instead of complaining about having to get up early to go to a gas station, I chose to look on the bright side of the situation. I treated myself to a beautiful view, breathed in fresh air, and recharged with positive energy to keep living and enjoying every day. From my beautiful Isla de Margarita, I’m sending you a huge hug. Hola, mis amigos de @hivemargarita y del mundo entero como están pasando sus días. Hoy les escribo con el corazón lleno de buenas vibras y mucho salitre jajajaja jajajaja. Como muchos ya saben en Venezuela nos toca adaptarnos y resolver el día a día, bajo las circunstancias que sea y hoy me tocó a mí cumplir con la famosa tarea de hacer la cola para surtir gasolina.

Normalmente esto podría ser un dolor de cabeza, pero como estoy de vacaciones y tenía el tiempo a mi favor, decidí planificarme, está tarea si la hace mi esposo, así que nos pusimos de acuerdo desde temprano, le dije, yo voy tempranito y hago el trámite aprovechando los días libres y es que tenía deseos de ver un hermoso amanecer en la playa. Así que agarré mis llaves, me monté en el carro y salí directo a cumplir con la jornada.

Ahora, les cuento el secreto de por qué no me pesó para nada esta cola. Si hay algo que puedo rescatar, lo único que de verdad me agrada de este proceso, es el lugar donde nos toca esperar. Resulta que la cola se hace justo en los alrededores de la playa de Puerto Abajo, aquí mismo en mi querido Municipio Antolín del Campo, que es donde yo vivo.

Si les soy sincera, Puerto Abajo no es precisamente mi playa favorita de toda la isla, pero si tiene su encanto. Es la playita de nuestro municipio, un rincón muy del pueblo, muy pueblerino, humilde y muy hermoso. Es un espacio pequeño donde la gente de nuestra comunidad se reúne muchísimo. Es el punto de encuentro perfecto para armar un sancocho, prender una parrilla, compartir una comida en familia y traer a los niños. Como es una playa llana y sus aguas son tranquilas, los más pequeños de la casa pueden disfrutar con total seguridad mientras los adultos conversan bajo la sombra.

Así que estar aquí hoy desde temprano me regaló un momento único. El amanecer estaba simplemente bellísimo, de esos que te reconcilian con la vida y te hacen valorar cada momento por muy difícil que sea. La playa se veía divina, provocando meterse de una vez. No pude resistirme y aproveché de tomar esta fotico que les comparto. Quise capturar el momento para que me quede de recuerdo, pero también para mostrarle al mundo entero esta bondad de playa que tenemos en Antolín. Hay que hacerle su buena publicidad a lo nuestro, porque lo hecho en casa se cuida y se presume.Al final, la vida se trata de la actitud con la que decides mirar las cosas.

En vez de quejarme por madrugar a una estación de gasolina, preferí buscarle el lado positivo a la situación. Me regalé un paisaje hermoso, respiré aire puro y me recargué de energías positivas para seguir viviendo y disfrutando cada día.
