Hello Hive friends. I hope you had a fantastic weekend. On Mondays I like to change the posts a little and do something different and lately I have taken to sharing my tasks in the garden.
Having a garden is something fantastic with many benefits so if you have the opportunity, don't hesitate. As the phrase says "Do you want to be free? Start by planting a garden"

After planting the onions last week, it was the turn of the potatoes, which is a crop that takes up a large part of the garden but allows me to enjoy a wonderful product. The potatoes that are bought have nothing to do with those that are grown. This is one of the products where the difference is most noticeable. They are also a product that keeps very well so you can collect potatoes almost all year round.

Planting potatoes is very simple although it requires a little physical work. I kindly ask my boy for help to prepare the land. You have to do a deep plowing and stir the soil well since potatoes are tubers and need well-aerated soil.
It is important to add fertilizer before planting, potatoes are very sweet. I use a mixture of chicken manure and compost. They are materials that we produce ourselves.

Afterwards, rows about 10 centimeters deep are made where the potato pieces prepared the day before are placed. You can cut the potatoes as much as you want but it must have at least one sprout. All that remains is to cover them and give them abundant watering.

From there everything is easy not to water too much, the water cannot become stagnant, and when it is born use a little copper-based fungicide to avoid fungal damage. Afterwards you will only have to wait for the bushes to dry before collecting, which will be after about 4 months.
