Greetings everyone and welcome to my blog. It's the week 55 edition of the Hive learner's weekly contest on the topic BABIES.
I have had encounters with many babies and I have seen them taking their first step, But the first of them all is for me to see my younger sister take her first step.
A long time ago my mother wasn't prepared to have another baby but you know the woman's world, she found out she was pregnant and I was already in my first year of secondary school.
Surrounded by boys I always wish to have sisters just like I have brothers. seeing my mother pregnant made me happy and I would always support my mother to cook and prepare the meal for the family, just for her to know am happy she is pregnant and she is going to have a baby girl.
Nine months are over and my mother gave birth to a baby girl As I wished for. my mother would always say the birth of my younger was the easiest, safest, fastest and best of all of her delivery processes.
She was so beautiful as a baby and was loved by everyone, this made her always the harm of families and friends. few days to her one-year birthday she was still crawling and hadn't shown signs of taking her first. This made my mother worried and told us not to carry her always, we should leave her to play on the floor so she can get used to it and try to walk on her own.
The beautiful adorable baby became a crying baby who felt she has done something wrong because of the way we neglected her on the floor.
like the author of this contest said "They are Cute and adorable and everyone loves them" This Includes God Who created them. Few hours before her birthday my mother has already told her that if she doesn't walk, there would be no one-year birthday day party for Her. I already started practising with her so we could surprise my mother.
10:45 pm we rushed to my neighbour's house who just came from America to welcome me, I carried my baby sister there and my mother came alongside so when he said your sister is beautiful how old is she now I told him she would be one year old tomorrow and my mother completed the statement but she has not started walking so any party for her. I gently dropped my sister on the floor and I told her J girl go to mama as she heard me, she stood from the floor, walked straight to my mother and everyone shouted Praise the Lord you know the response as we Nigerians( Africans).
This brought so much joy to my family and the friends around us.
Am glad to tell this story.
