10 years ago...the blockchain was being thought up by an amazing group of people utilizing the pseudonym, Satoshi Nakamoto. This blockchain technology is what gave birth to our first crypto, bitcoin. Many people knew this sort of tech was the future, but a lot of us had no clue how fast the future would actually come. In the beginning, these bitcoin were literally worth pennies.
Fast-forward to 2013 and we saw HUGE increase in bitcoin usage and value. A lot of this has to do with the fact that it was being used for nefarious purposes on the dark web and by criminal elements everywhere. Silk Road basically gave this currency its initial value, which was about $1,000 USD. However, it did not take long for Bitcoin to take off and leave the criminals behind. Besides, with the new privacy coins coming around on the scene there was no reason for criminals to use BTC anyway.
Now we are in 2017, and what a time it is to be alive. There are over 1000 crypto coin/token/blockchain projects. Not only that but almost ALL of them are worth more than bitcoin was in it's second year. This is a great sign, because it shows that they are ALL growing faster than the grand daddy of it all.

Just look at the top 10 on coinmarketcap.com right now and you can easily see that money is coming into ALL projects from EVERYWHERE. It is so exciting to watch. Litecoin at 350? Ethereum at 500? Btc at 17k stable? Even Steem just took off soaring! My head might explode!
