When I criticize social media companies for engaging in censorship, I'm not saying that the government should force social media companies to abide by the parameters set for the government by the First Amendment.

I don't want the government to do fucking nothing.

It's no secret that the government has been colluding with social media companies to regulate speech. The state is still working on the "paused" Disinformation Governance Board and it's looking even worse than we thought. If you don't believe me, see the link above to that right-wing rag, The Intercept and the article written by two socialists.

We aren't just talking about social media companies doing what they want because they're private. Even if we were, for the quadrillionth time, free speech is a moral value and not just a law. It can be violated by anyone.

The fact that I keep getting questioned about wanting to get the government involved in forcing private companies into certain policies when I criticize companies for colluding with government to stifle speech is illustrative of how warped and abusive our relationship with government is.

A lot of us think that about values that we have should be backed with government force. Most moral conflicts shouldn't involve state intervention. Most of us don't wanna sick a government agency on an cheating ex; but, we think that it's generally morally wrong to cheat.

This isn't that hard.
