  Holidays have never really meant total rest for me, because most times I am working through them. While others look forward to staying home or traveling without worries, I see the holidays as a window to push harder. Even when I travel, which honestly does not happen often, I still find a way to take up a job. My reason is simple and sincere. I need to make funds for the coming semester and also cater for myself without putting pressure on anyone. That responsibility sits strongly in my heart.

Working during holidays feels different from working during school sessions. There is a certain freedom that comes with it. I work without constantly checking the time for lectures or worrying about missing important school activities. My mind feels lighter, and my focus is clearer. I can give my best to the job because I know nothing else is pulling me in different directions.

Some of these jobs may look small to others, but to me they are meaningful. Each shift reminds me that I am doing something for my future. The stress can be real, waking up early, standing for long hours, and sometimes dealing with difficult people, but it is always refreshing in its own way. There is joy in earning honestly and knowing that I am preparing ahead.

During holidays, while the world slows down, my own world becomes active. Working gives my days structure and purpose. It keeps me grounded and hopeful, and it makes the holidays feel productive rather than empty. It teaches me discipline, gratitude, patience, and quiet pride I carry forward daily.

  This holiday season, my space is still undecorated, and that truth carries mixed emotions for me. I had plans, real plans, to add some life and color around me. In my mind, I pictured something calm and warm, not loud or crowded, just a soft reminder that it is the holidays. But as the days go by, I honestly cannot tell if I will still do it.

This period has been filled with school responsibilities and work, especially work. My days feel packed, my energy stretched, and sometimes I barely notice how fast time is moving. Each morning starts with tasks waiting, and each night ends with tired thoughts. In the middle of all that, decorating feels like a pause I want but cannot fully grab yet.

Still, the desire is there. Even if it is just a small touch, something really simple and basic, it would mean a lot to me. Maybe a tiny corner rearranged, a light detail added, or a simple piece that brings a calm feeling. I do not need a perfect setup to feel the holiday spirit.

What matters to me is the intention behind it. Decorations, for me, are not about showing off. They are about creating a moment of comfort in a busy season, a quiet reminder that joy can exist even when life feels rushed. If it happens, it will be from the heart, simple, honest, and deeply personal to me.
