I feel that the bicycle is one of the most eco-friendly inventions made by man, and also offers many advantages for the human body. The ecological bicycles developed to purify polluted air were designed by Studio Roosegaarde for an ambitious project in China called Smog free, the bicycles have a special device on the handlebars which recycles polluted air and turns it into clean air. This has been funded by the Chinese government in order to reduce greenhouse gases, China along with the United States are the countries that generate the most pollution.
This system has been used in different parts of the city but in a larger model where towers suck up the polluted air.
Taking this invention to a smaller scale and movable format as it is a bicycle is one of the most ambitious proposals of the company and the Chinese government. Above all, as China is a city with a great traffic of bicycles, it is possible to cover large extensions purifying the air faster.
If the project is a success it will be promoted in large polluting countries so that they can acquire the system and reduce pollution through this ingenious system. To better understand the invention I will limit myself to explaining how the smog vacuum tower works, which is capable of cleaning an area of 40,000 cubic meters per hour on a larger scale than the bicycle, and how the bicycle uses the same wind to generate the electricity necessary for the device to work.
Another aspect of this invention is the use of only 1170 watts of green energy through a positive ionization system and if we take into account the size of 7 meters of the tower and its cost not so high makes it ideal for all those internal proposals where cities and governments are willing to invest in recovering their spaces polluted with smog the main headache of all industrialized countries.
The tower was tested by
Eindhoven University of Technology and is already being researched by other universities, being proven effective although many polluting countries are not interested in collaborating with the change, the important thing is that countries such as China which is one of the biggest polluters on the planet has joined this initiative.
