Hello learners and community 鉂わ笍
Its not a joke when issues relating to waste management and environmental pollution arises because I see this case as a very serious matter that should have a better solutions. But the problem we see everyday is disheartening when it comes to how the government are not paying attention about the surroundings and how to handle waste.
Most times we feel that the government should be responsible and accountable to a healthy environment by devising a better way to manage littering and waste through creating a body that will solely be in-charge of waste disposal. But we as citizens of a country should also be contributors to how our environment should be kept clean in any way we could, to avoid damages and poisoning of our System.
The big question is why is the government not getting involved with those who are polluting the environment by what they produce because the major pollution is coming from the bigger industries and organizations who are mostly are into chemical production. A very dangerous substances that is so damaging to the soil. affecting crops and vegetables 馃ウ.
I can tell you that its in the hands of the government to make and create laws that will govern and arrest those who are mot following orders on how to channel waste properly to avoid pollution. I mean, if the government takes responsibility, they will come out to hold others responsible, who are the people, the companies that deals on different kinds if productions and industries who mostly channel their waste into the sea 馃寠.
I could still remember when a law was made in my country Nigeria 馃嚦馃嚞, that all commercial buses 馃殞 must have a waste basket 馃Ш in their vehicles to avoid people throwing things on the road . And any bus that could not comply will be arrested. And to be honest, Lagos city 馃寙 was made the cleanest in those years. But suddenly, once those in power then left, this very law collapsed..
So, waste management is a very big issue in every country, especially where recycling are not taking seriously. For the citizens to get involved in keeping the environments clean, the government must be determined with ways to hold others accountable because the people are the ones causing the littering. But first, the organizations and industries should come first. And most of the owners of this companies and industries are the rich 馃 men who are not paying attention but are making their money to amass wealth.
We are clean as a people not just by dressing decently and riding big cars 馃殬, but by putting efforts into what will make a nation stand out , preserving our vegetables, helps our solar system, leaving the fishes in ocean to grow healthy and breathing a healthier air .
