The cityscape of Split in Croatia, the gateway to the marvelous and adventurous islands of Brac, Hvar and Vis. My friends live somewhere in one of those orange-roof houses. Together we spent days exploring the islands, successfully negotiated to rent a little boat and set out in search of secret, lonely beaches to enjoy the spectacular Adriatic sea in peace and away from the crowds. We also tried fishing for half a day but all we got was one tiny little guy, which we released back into the water. I guess we are not quite ready yet to survive into the wild...My favorite travels are those where we get to hang out with locals and experience the country through their eyes. Maybe that's why I love Croatia so much. Plus, the incredible smell of lavender, accompanying us everywhere we went. The Mediterranean is just so magical and I will cherish forever all the memories from here.
