Abandoned buildings don't need to be boring or ugly. At least not in Lisbon, Portugal where interesting graffiti decorates the abandoned walls and really captivates someone who has randomly stumbled upon this street. I love how the fish, the symbol of Portugal, has been stamped on the building and how it spans from the door all the way across to the adjacent wall. Who is the man wearing the glasses on the graffiti? Who used to live in this building? Why was it abandoned? Or was it a construction project that was never finished? These are questions I was never able to find answers to. If you are from Lisbon and you can shed some light on this, it would be so greatly appreciated!
I loved the contrast with the white buildings on top, which are clearly maintained and taken care of.
I chose this picture for the "Abandoned shit weekly contest" by @customnature because the theme this week is "Freestyle." I like Freestyle :)
