I took the train to Sorrento from Naples. At first I was unimpressed by the town. It was pretty small and didn't have an infinite amount of hidden gems littered throughout, as Naples did. It wasn't until I came across this death-trap of a winding road that I started to see it's beauty.

With my camera in hand I dodged oncoming traffic so that I could take some photographs.

Normally, that would be a terrifying experience but after spending some time in Naples, Sorrento drivers were easily dodged. I now know what it feels like to play Frogger in real life.

This road leads to some very nice views overlooking the coastline of the Bay of Naples that I'll leave to the imagination (or your next visit).

After stumbling around town for a while, I wanted to see what was at the edge of the coastline so I took a walk and accidentally stumbled upon the Bagni Regina Giovanna. This was quite the surprise and absolutely stunning.

It's a secluded swimming area that's completely enclosed except for a small opening leading into the Mediterranean Sea.

The bagni is reached from a trail that descends from above.

Along the outside of the baths are some interesting rock formations and beautiful coastal views.

I stayed here until sunset before heading back to the town center.

Within a few hours time, Sorrento had transformed into a wonderland filled with lights and all types of festivities ranging from outdoor puppet shows to outdoor atmosphere characters.

Everything was covered in lights and the town felt truly magical.

Unfortunately I cannot share videos so for the true feel of the town you'll have to visit.

Just don't forget to leave without trying the gelato first.
