I was looking at a few pictures from this year and indeed there weren't that many especially after February due to COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions placed on ourselves.
If it weren't for images I don't think I would've remembered the last time I visited a restaurant for a simple meal. Ordering in has become the new normal and ofcourse its the safer option, especially if you have managed not to fall sick to COVID-19.
I've preferred to go this route myself even as I miss the fun of enjoying a hot meal in the company of my friends at our favourite restaurants. A few friends have been venturing out, some have had and recovered from COVID-19 but im in no rush to catch the virus nor am I crazy about visiting restaurants lately.
As I write this post I recall a friend who managed to recover from being sick with COVID-19 for 3 weeks and somehow...just barely managed to skip the COVID-19 ICU told me, "if you manage to stay alive through 2020 then its good enough achievement."
I miss travel and I miss food that I get to taste while im on the road. But, pandemics will come and go, a little time may be lost but health is everything right? I prefer not to catch the virus as long as I can avoid it.
Besides, i'm glad I managed to get plenty done in the last few years as far as travel and all that goes so this year feels like an extended break of sorts to relax, enjoy company of my family and just take it easy. So i guess, we adapt and make the most of what we've got. :)
